Over 500 Different Deck Material Packages
Totem deck kits are available with top quality decking in several styles and sizes. Choose from dry spruce or pressure treated decking in 2' x 4' or 2' x 6' widths. 5/4" treated with smooth eased edges is also available. Or, choose a maintenance-free, solid decking system. Both raised level styles are available with spruce or treated joist sysytems and raised decks include a solid 5/8" tongue and groove plywood option.That’s over 500 great patio deck projects and each one is easy to construct with illustrated instructions and complete screws, nails and hardware.

Raised Attached Deck
Above ground and attached to the home on at least one side.
Package includes ...

Raised Free-Standing Deck
Above the ground alongside the home or on its own out in the yard.
This type of deck requires 2 double beams and extra 4x4 treated posts.

Deck Stairs
Patio Deck Stairs
Using manufactured stair stringers is the "Totem Made Easy" way to build stairs with professional results.
Choose from pressure treated wood or black steel stringers. Both accomodate single 2' x 12' or double 2' x 6' stair treads. Simply measure from the ground up to your deck surface height and we will figure out the how many steps you'll need.

Deck Railings
Wide Variety
Finish off a new deck or replace the railing on your existing deck with one of these simple to build, functional styles. Totem railings are available in a wide selection of types and styles so you can match your deck perfectly. Decide on an “open” or “solid” style and choose from plain or sculptured palings. Each deck railing material package is priced per lineal foot and can be calculated for your exact deck size. All Totem railings are 42" high from the deck surface.
Pre-Cut Railing
Totem stocks a great collection of pre-cut railing boards (palings) for a unique and attractive finish to your deck. Choose from plain 1' x 6', 2' x 2', 5/4 x 4 or sculptured palings in various styles. A separate railing material package, one for each style of paling, has been pre-planned and is easily calculated for any deck size. Or, if you have a specific railing style in mind, custom designs are no problem. We can work out a new material package for you, done to your exact specifications. Solid Base Railing
42" solid base kits are the simplest to build.
With 4' palings attached directly to the deck fascia. A 2' x 4' nailing strip (on edge) and a 2' x 4' or 2' x 6' handrail (flat) are included to properly finish the top.

Open Base Railing
42" open base kits feature strong 4' uprights attached to the deck fascia every four feet and 3' palings evenly spaced in between.
This style more closely resembles a fence and leaves an open space at the bottom for easy snow removal in winter.
Also included are 2' x 4' lower and 2' x 2' upper nailing strips and a 2' x 4' handrail on top.

Do-It-Yourself or Have It Built
We can recommend a qualified professional contractor to build your new Totem Deck for you. Just give them a call. They will visit your site and give you an accurate price on the entire job, from start to finish, and done to your exact specifications.
Deck Bench
Build your deck bench the easy way with sturdy prefinished steel brackets in your choice of front mount or surface mount styles. Make any length of bench you require including angled corners.
Seat and back lumber and hardware sold separately.
Lattice Panels
Functional, attractive and ready to use, prebuilt lattice panels in your choice of cedar, pressure treated or vinyl can be added to your deck package. Ideal as a privacy screen, for skirting or added to your railing design.
Deck Screws
Self-drilling, rust-resistant deck screws with a special coating and heavy-duty, easy driving coarse threads are provided for more solid, long-lasting results than standard nails can provide, but you’ll need a different length if you choose the unique hidden deck fastener. It allows you to attach your boards from below so there’s no nail or screw holes on your deck surface for a smooth finished appearance.
Prefinished Decking
Consider the distinctive look and performance advantages of composite or vinyl prefinished decking. These unique, low-maintenance surfaces do not crack, chip or peel which means there’s no sanding, scraping, staining or painting. Choose from three different options Millennium or Trex for composite decking and Dek-Master for rolled vinyl.
