Training and Development

University of Totem

Totem employs two full time Trainers in two dedicated facilities in Calgary and Edmonton. These centers are fondly referred to as the University of Totem.

New employees in all positions will undergo a full week of product knowledge and systems training. People hired specifically for sales positions also return to the training center for another full week of more intensive and in-depth learning to complete the initial program. Customer Loaders are also extentsively trained in forklift operation and specific areas of safety in the workplace.

iC4

iC4 is an innovative computer training tool using video presentations supported by demonstrations, charts, diagrams and questionnaires. This program supports extensive learning of operational know-how, soft skills and technical knowledge. Videos range from store policies to product knowledge and all the 'how-to' in between.
